Do you know that there is a
difference between a dead man and a dead body?
“ A dead body is a
corpse ...and its lifeless”
You are not just a body, you are a man, God
said "come let's make man in our own image", not let's make a body, now
the question is how is the man in you doing? Is he dead or still alive.Have u
gotten a answer to that?
I welcome everyone to tonight’s discussion ‘’DECIDE TO DIE"
Deciding to die isn't about committing suicide..
It’s about dying for what will make your
life count.
·
What
do you want to die for?
Your
dreams, love or lust? If you are dying for love remember Romeo and Juliet
If
you are dying for your dream you are one of the most priceless things God
created.
Your dreams is one of the most beautiful
things that you can picture.", My dream is the meal that keeps me
alive". Everyone dreams, whether big or small.. what makes your dreams
real is not the size of your dream its the amount of effort you put in
realizing it.
ABIMBOLAS INSPIRING STORY
I
want to share a story about myself and I want us to please stay connected It
isn't super story it’s my story
This young Lady Abimbola is a lady
with gigantic dreams, hopes and aspiration. I am surrounded by things which are
enough to make me give up. In January I got an offer at work to go for a
professional course in Journalism.. I was so happy for the door God opened for me My family and friends were
happy about it, because the training is to make me " Stand Out". As
at the time I was meant to go ,my family became financially handicap. No food
at home and no money. I can't count the number of days we all had to fast
because there was nothing to eat.I was bothered by this, Galaxy television
already sponsored the training ,and what was left for me to do is to get accommodation
and feeding. My mum said" Bimbo I really want you to go but there is no
money, if you go how will you get tfare, feeding and accommodation could feel
the pain of a mother who wanted her child to succeed but has nothing, my
acceptance fee too was about to close and I was yet to pay. I told my friends
and my sisters about it, they said you just have to forget about it don't worry
another opportunity will come". I cried unto God, I prayed but help wasn't
coming. My aunt whose house wasn't so far from the place said her husband
wouldn't accept ,I called my sister who resides in lag too and she accepted,
but then the cost of transport from her place to the training venue is 1000 per
day and I was to spend 45 days in Lagos. I lost hope, and I almost felt like
giving up. Is it someone who has not even eaten breakfast that will go for the
training? I begged my boss he said there is nothing he could do to help that I
should settle transport and feeding myself .Some of my friends that i told
didn't even believe when I told them, they were like " u wey be celeb, wey we dey see for all
television and radio station".
Those who wanted to help said i f I
don't date them, or they don't get down they wouldn't " Can u see a useless help dressed in gold I was
down... there is a hymn Nipa Ife
Olugbala ki yo so nkan..Through the love of Christ Our savior all will be well,
but now all is isn't well.
Our next line of action will really show if we
believe in all that we have been taught and as well accepted when the reality
if life stares at us in the eye's
In spite
of all this I didn't give up, I told my mum and my sis that I will go no matter
what.I only said that with a weak courage " I was sure that my life is in
His hands and I know that I can make it". My mum couldn't even give me t
fare because she had nothing on her she just waved to me and said God be with
you. My boss was surprised when he saw
me because I told him all that was happening. For the first two weeks, things
weren't easy, I don't want to bother my sis that I was staying with because she
doesn't have much as at that time so whenever she ask me if I had t fare I will
say yes even when I don't have.I will wake up as early as 4:30 do my morning
chores, bath and go,training start from 9-3, and I get home sometimes 6 or
after 6 I could remember one day my boss
told me " Bimbo I thought you said your mum is a pastor in Ibadan, so why
won't she have money, pastors here in Lag have jet like being a pastor is the key to all riches
He said “even me sef” that am not a pastor I have money.
A lady
heard my conversation with my mum one day and decided to help, she promised to
always lap me and I was so happy. Sometimes while going home I will have to
stand for hours in the bus before I sit on her laps, sometimes I skip breakfast
and eat only dinner. The training isn't easy at all so the lady couldn't cope
and stopped coming. At the training I met top broadcasters, masters holder, PhD
holder and at a point I felt intimidated like I can compete with them being the
one with the smallest qualification and the youngest, but then I didn't give
up, I read and read just to catch up and I later did. My boss gave me 10k after
seeing my tenacity, some of my friends too sent me Money and with that I was
good to go, even from this struggle I still saved money for my acceptance. Nobody
knows what I was going through because you will always see me smiling and very
vibrant until I presented a poem " Behind my smiles". However i go to
my church in Ibadan every Saturday to play in church as the church pianist.
“
You see people who *decide to die* don't cry around like a baby, because you
are dying for your dreams”
Someone who wants to die for his dream and his
crying around is like someone who wants to commit suicide and ties a rope
around I neck in the market, tell me is he truly ready to die?
By next week, I will be done with
the training, all thanks to God for the help he sent when I was down. Thank God
I went for the training, because now I can see a new me. "Thanks to
someone too who never stopped encouraging me to push "
When I started my musical career,
my family didn't support me at first, I will coordinate the crew and finance it
with the little I had. My mum wouldn’t allow me go out , she sees it as a means
to go into the world. I didn't give up, i still go out for ministration and
saved money to release my first single "motipinu" I cant count the
number of times this fresh cheeks received slap , and times when they call me
names. I prayed to God to change her mind and when she saw my passion she
supported me.
We
all face different things, yours might be financial problem or family problem, just
know that it’s for the main time. " No matter what the matter is, you matter what
matters most". Not everyone can picture what you are seeing because they
are not the vision bearer. Press on. Nothing in the world can take the place of
persistence. Talent will not; nothing is more common than unsuccessful men with
talent. Genius will not; the world is full of educated derelicts. Persistence
and determination alone are omnipotent.

Mistakes People make when Their Dreams Fail.
- They Give Up: Quitters Never win and winners never quit. Never give up on your dreams the word "END" means Effort Never Dies. Your hard work will pay one day. Philippians 4:13."I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me"
- They chase money and not value: Money chases value, so anyone who chase money without having value, is wasting time... Value is raw and money is it finished product. Let your passion define your hustle. For working in Diamond and Galaxy I don't get paid, but I count it as a grooming process before I become "Hot Cake". Chase the vision, not the money. The money will end up following you." --Tony Hsieh
- They stop preparing: Those who want to make exploit never prepare in battle they prepare before battle. Be prepared always. Don't wait until opportunity comes your way before you prepare. "The time is now"
- They forget God: Never forget God in your darkest hour. Everything you are going through is preparing you for a better tomorrow. You can do nothing without Him, but you can do everything with Him. Lift up your eyes unto the hills that is where your help can come from.
Finally;
Fearlessness
is like a muscle. I know from my own life that the more I exercise it the more
natural it becomes to not let my fears run me."
When
you reach an obstacle, turn it into an opportunity. You have the choice. You
can overcome and be a winner, or you can allow it to overcome you and be a
loser. The choice is yours and yours alone. Refuse to throw in the towel. Go
that extra mile that failures refuse to travel. It is far better to be
exhausted from success than to be rested from failure." --Mary Kay Ash
In Christ alone my hope is found
He is my light , my strength , my
song
This cornerstone, this solid ground
Firm through the fiercest drought
and storm
What heights of love, what depths
of peace
When fears are stilled , when
strivings cease
My comforter, my all in all
Here in the love of Christ I stand
