Good
evening everyone, I am happy for the privilege given to me to share with
everyone here on the Topic before us
"Resilient Spirit"
In
this broken generation, where all around us is doubt, fear, disappointments and
discouragement we need more than just a pep talk to keep on going
What
do we mean by the English word
"Resilient "
"Able to endure
tribulation without cracking".
Resilient
spirit which I will call the Super Trait of greatness is
encrypted in the genetic makeup of every living organism. According to
evolution theory only the most Resilient (Strong) survive
According
to this theory organisms that can't withstand this rigor are made to
become extinct Of all the creation of God, Human is the most equipped for
adaptation, ability to adjust to any kind of condition.
Please don't mind my metaphors I believe we will all understand well at the end
Every
living organism try as much as possible
to adjust to a constant state of equilibrium which keeps the generation
of this living organism to keep existing.
Fishes
for example breed in large quantities in order to overcome the probability of
their species of been eaten up totally by strong preys, octopuses and chameleon
change skin color to adapt to back ground to in order to escape predators.
All
living organism in one way or the other has developed a mechanism that it is
well adapted to to ensure continuity
All
organisms have the instinct of going on and not giving up irrespective of the
odds They know primarily that the moment they quit signals the end to their
species.
Now let us come back to us human the arc of creation made to dominate aren't we supposed to be far advanced in our abilities ?
Now let us come back to us human the arc of creation made to dominate aren't we supposed to be far advanced in our abilities ?
No
wonder the bible said to the sluggard man to go to the ant and consider it ways
and be wise
Resilience
is inbuilt in every Human on the face of the earth but it is a feature that is
rarely used. There is a superhero in everyone of us caged in the prison of fear
and uncertainty in our mind, prevented from expression. A Resilient spirit is
not foreign to us, it has been a part of us from the day we are born. I will
call it an Inner Stubbornness that gives us the hunch to keep fighting despite
the odds
When
our minds is still primitive and we could not think for ourselves this spirit
within us express itself not with standing We
learnt how to crawl, walking and run by been resilient (Refusing to give up despite many failed
trials) but here we are today we can all see the fruit of our resilient spirit
back then, we all walk as if we have never fail at walking before. But yet now
we are grown up only to silence the engine within that keeps us gearing
forward. Imagine a kid giving up on learning how to walk, Imagine how sad the
parent of that kid will be.
If
our strength is not drawn from within then the heaviness without will crush us
Resilient
spirit is the gas within that keep our engine firing, why call it a quit when we are
about to start?
We
all have encountered life crisis that will naturally break our will, yes there
are times I prefer been dead than enduring the agonies before us, we have had
situations where the cup is too bitter to drink. We all had our shares of it
and will still have more.
We
can't take all this away from life but we can reconstruct our minds, we can
awaken the sleeping superhero, we could set him free from His cage. The pages
of History is filled with men and women who has more than enough reasons to give up and lay low but they chose to
follow the undecorated Hero within and
hereby changed the course of History through this singular attitude.
HERE
I HAVE A TASK FOR EVERYONE: MENTION 2 PEOPLE WHO THEIR RESILIENCY IS AN
INSPIRATION TO YOU
Martin
Luther King Jr
Israel
Joseph
Barack Obama
Folorunsho
Alakija
I
would like to share a wonderful piece of poem from Maya Angelou titled
"Still I
rise"
You may write me
down in history
With your
bitter, twisted lies,
You may trod me
in the very dirt
But still, like
dust, I'll rise.
Does my
sassiness upset you?
Why are you
beset with gloom?
’Cause I walk
like I've got oil wells
Pumping in my living room.
Just like moons
and like suns,
With the
certainty of tides,
Just like hopes
springing high,
Still I'll rise.
Did you want to
see me broken?
Bowed head and
lowered eyes?
Shoulders
falling down like teardrops,
Weakened by my
soulful cries?
Does my haughtiness
offend you?
Don't you take
it awful hard
’Cause I laugh
like I've got gold mines
Digging’ in my
own backyard.
You may shoot me
with your words,
You may cut me
with your eyes,
You may kill me
with your hatefulness,
But still, like
air, I’ll rise.
Out of the huts
of history’s shame
I rise
Up from a past
that’s rooted in pain
I rise
I'm a black
ocean, leaping and wide,
Welling and
swelling I bear in the tide.
Leaving behind
nights of terror and fear
I rise
Into a daybreak
that’s wondrously clear
I rise
Bringing the
gifts that my ancestors gave,
I am the dream
and the hope of the slave.
I rise
I rise
I rise.
All
those we look up to for inspiration feel many times when learning to walk the
walk of Greatness, many tried walking like them but quit on the way, what kept
them going was their unyielding spirit to defeat and Resilient spirit to bounce
back when they are been crushed by life
Jesus
had a bitter Cup before Him but instead of quitting He drank it for the greater
good of all man, it is not an easy thing to remain positive while all things
around seems negative, but this positivity within determines the outcome of the
negativity around
We
may be down now but we are not out yet. We may be suffering a temporary defeat
but we are not on a final defeat, we quitting
is the only final defeat, whenever we are knocked down we will not stay
on the ground, we keep standing up with the strength and attitude of a winner,
we will always bounce back.
I
want us all to note this --> Tough
situations only bring out the best creativity in solving diverse problem we
encounter through life, without them we won't make a difference in Human race,
embrace your conditions and seek to overcome it with positivity!
Tough times don't last but Tough
people do
With
this I say thank you to everyone one for your attention and response may the
good God Father of all bless you!
